We are partnering with a multinational technology firm to hire a Commerce Platform Specialist. This role suits someone who blends technical architecture, implementation consulting and trusted client advisory. About the Role
This is not a development role, but you will need enough hands-on ability to review, validate and troubleshoot implementations. You will be the person clients rely on for clarity, best practice and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities
• Review customer implementations and identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities
• Lead architecture and integration discussions
• Guide customers on best-practice use of their commerce platform
• Translate business needs into workable architecture and implementation plans
• Use light PHP and JavaScript coding as needed to validate configurations
• Run workshops, discovery sessions and solution reviews
• Support multiple concurrent client engagements
Technical Requirements
Core Commerce Experience (must have one of the following):
• Magento or Adobe Commerce – strong understanding of architecture, modules, extensions, integrations, scalability and secure commerce design
OR
• Enterprise commerce experience from equivalent platforms: Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), Shopify Plus, BigCommerce or SAP Hybris
Technical Skills
• Ability to read and debug PHP and JavaScript
• Experience working with REST and GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of cloud-hosted commerce environments
• Ability to interpret logs, diagnose issues and validate integration flows
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills

• Able to communicate with developers, architects and business stakeholders

• Largest team is in Sydney
• Open to candidates based in Melbourne
Hybrid working: 2–3 office days per week. Customer visits count as office days.
Contract Details
This role begins as a 12-month Fixed Term Contract including:
• Base salary + superannuation
• All normal permanent leave entitlements
• Full access to permanent employee training and development programs
The intention is for the position to convert into a full permanent role over time.
